If you need to do any shopping in Havelock North before arriving at the Lodge just stay on SH2 after the Waimarama and Ocean Beach turning and after about fifty metres there is a left turn towards Havelock. After shopping use the instructions for people travelling up from the south to get back on track.

Things to bring

A Welcome Hamper containing tea, coffee etc is provided but we suggest you stop at the New World supermarket in Havelock North en route, to buy essential supplies. There is a small but expensive Dairy in Waimarama (approx 12 minutes drive) which opens until 7.30 in the evenings. It also provides fish n chips and pizza’s to take away on Friday and Saturday until 7.30pm. All bedding and towels as well as complimentary toiletries are provided.

On Arrival

Please enter the Lodge and make yourself at home. We hope to be there to meet you but if not, please use the phone and ring 8710887 and we will come over. The house and the facilities are for your exclusive use during your stay and apart from maintaining the hot tub and pool from time to time, and feeding the pigeons, we will leave you to enjoy your holiday but please feel free to contact us if you need anything at all.

Animals

There are pigeons, currently 10 adults and 5 babies, who fly free but are fed and roost in one of the sheds by the house. If you have children who would like to feed them during your stay the pigeons would love it.

There are also 2 pigs (Mildred & Ruby Rose) who would love to eat all of your leftovers and there is a bin located just outside of the Lodge for any scraps. The pigs are tame and love company but food is better placed on the ground in front of them rather than being hand fed as they could think that little hands are part of the meal!

The chickens are fed twice a day and again if the children wish to collect the eggs they are welcome.

As well as these animals, sheep graze in the surrounding fields. Please feel free to walk around these fields but please ensure that all gates are left as you found them.

Pool and Hot Tub

We will check and clean the pool and tub as needed. We will try and do this when you are out and about but please call us whenever you need it done. The tub cover has a lifting device to help remove and cover it. Please use this as the lid can rip quite easily. The lid must be on and locked at all times when not being used, for safety reasons.

Computer

There is a computer in the lounge, connected to the internet, for your use. Information on the Lodge and websites on local attractions can be found here.

Phone

The phone is for local calls only but if people need to contact you during your stay the number is (06) 8746617.

Recycling

There are recycling bins in the shed for paper, tin, plastic and glass and the pigs would love anything organic.

Payment

We do not have card facilities so cash or a cheque would be appreciated at the end of your stay. If you wish to pay using the internet we are MV Holidays 02 0655 0087258 00. Please use your name as a reference.
