Directions from the South
For those of you coming from the south follow SH2 towards Napier. Just before you get to Hastings there is a signposted turning to Havelock North. Take this road and follow signs into Havelock.
At the first roundabout, (New World supermarket on right) go straight over and you will arrive at the hub of the village and another roundabout within 100 metres. Take the third exit onto Te Mata road and then at the T junction turn right, still on Te Mata road. Follow this road going straight over all of the mini roundabouts until you leave Havelock and drive through some vineyards until you arrive at the intersection.
The Te Mata Cheese Factory will be on your left, turn right and follow this road, signposted to Waimarima and Ocean Beach until you drive over the Tuki Tuki River. At the end of the bridge take the second left still signposted to Waimarima and Ocean Beach and follow this road for about 3 minutes.
Just after the lake on your left you go over a small bridge and turn right soon after onto Maraetotara Road. Maraetotara Valley Lodge, number 1624, is about 20 minutes drive along this road on your right hand side after the second single track bridge and before the third.
Directions from the North
As you approach Napier on SH2 take the left turn after the airport, still SH2, and follow the signs through Napier and out along Marine Parade. Go through Clive and turn left when you see a brown sign to Cape Kidnappers and a road sign to Waimarama and Ocean beach.
Go straight over the first roundabout and eventually you will go past the Te Mata Cheese Factory, which does good coffee and food, and then you will drive between Te Mata Peak on your right and the Tuki Tuki River on your left.
Eventually you will cross the Tuki Tuki and then take the second left turn still signposted to Waimarima and Ocean Beach and follow this road for about 3 minutes. Just after the lake on your left you go over a small bridge and turn right soon after onto Maraetotara Road.
